Step 7: Installation Day has arrived!
The Poulin Cooling installation crew arrives in the morning.
Your old A/C unit is removed.
The new A/C condenser (outside unit) is installed while the indoor unit (air handler) is getting prepped.
The new A/C air handler (indoor unit) is installed and refrigerant is put into the new system or adjusted. (Most systems are pre-charged with refrigerant and we have to adjust the amount to make it run efficiently.)
The new A/C system is tested for operation.
The Poulin Cooling installation crew cleans up and removes the old equipment from your home.
You pay the remaining 50% of the new A/C unit installation cost before the installation crew leaves.

The total cost of installing an AC depends on size, efficiency, upgrades and what it takes to install it.
One of the biggest factors in the total cost of installing AC is based on something called SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio). A 2 ton 14 SEER could be $5,000 to $6,000. A 4 ton 16 SEER could be $5,700 $9,400. A 3 ton 17 SEER could $9,700 to $14,600.
The time required to install an AC can range dramatically based on the complexity of machine and its requirements.
For example:
A simple unit could take 4 hrs. A standard unit 8-10 hrs. A complex unit 10-16. A new unit and all its ducting could take 4 guys 5 days. This includes removing the old unit as well as installing the new one so that it’s running and good to go.

Installing a new HVAC system is second on the National Association of Realtors’ list of top home projects that add value to a house. Additionally they report that replacing your system recoups about 85% of the cost when you sell your home, a great return compared to other home projects.
How long your AC system lasts depends on several factors such as how often you use it and how well you maintain your system with regular tune-ups and repairs. On average, the lifespan of a well-maintained HVAC system is 10 to 15 years.
